About

Hi! I’m Caitlin

Why I created wedding coaching & what it’s all about

Let’s create a celebration so YOU, it could never be “right” for someone else.

WE’RE GOING TO THROW THAT SILLY WEDDING “RULE” BOOK RIGHT OUT THE WINDOW.

No idea is too weird! I have a knack for weaving all the ideas together in a cohesive way that will not only make sense to your guests but have them walk away knowing they were part of something special, one-of-a-kind experience that only the two of you could create.

Our story:

My husband, (who I affectionately refer to as “Beast”), and I threw our own “Celebration of Love” on September 9th of 2018 – a celebration created by intentional choices, and careful consideration for who we are and what this milestone meant to us as life partners. It was a celebration so genuinely “Us” that it was quite possibly the most joy-filled, and authentic experience of our lives and guests told us they felt it too. It was also one helluva party, I might add

After our own experience and having several close friends confide in me that they wished they’d known how to do it their own way too, I was left with a deep soul-felt desire to help couples create their own vision of an incredibly intentional, genuine, and joy-filled celebration.

As your guide:

My goal is to facilitate thoughtful conversations between you and your partner, helping you explore ways to weave who you are and what’s important to you both into your vision and planning.

I will help you take the “shoulds” and “have tos” out of wedding planning as you make thoughtful choices about which traditions to keep, re-imagine, or nix altogether. Even long standing traditions will be given new life if incorporated intentionally – what matters is what they invoke in You!

I’ll make sure, the most meaningful aspects of your celebration, including your ceremony, don’t become an after-thought.

Most importantly, I am here to keep you both grounded in the fact that, while the day you get married is important, it is your marriage, and each day that follows, that matters most.

Preparing for your wedding day can be an  overwhelming process, but it can also be a fun and unique opportunity for self-expression. The more you feel your celebration is authentic to both of you, the more time spent planning will feel more than worth it. I’m here to help make the process of figuring out what you want, what’s important and how to create it, easier and more enjoyable.

What’s the difference between a wedding coach and a planner?

“The questions Caitlin answered and the conversations we had were simply NOT things that you’d go to your planner with! “ – Tori

UNLIKE A WEDDING PLANNER…

I don’t handle the logical details or coordination of your wedding day. Instead, I will enthusiastically dig into the nitty gritty details of your celebration, including how you want the whole experience to feel from start to finish. I’ll help you think through and navigate hard decisions and brainstorm with you to create a one-of-a-kind ceremony. I can even work directly with your officiant, a great and supportive option if you’re choosing a friend or family member to officiate who’s never led a ceremony before.

I often work in tandem with event planners because couples have found that certain kinds of support they wanted were outside the scope of what their planner does – like talking through how to go handle the fact that you have a distant relationship with your dad or that you don’t want to be “given away” and what that means for the whole walking down the aisle part of the ceremony (should you choose to include that part…because it gets to look however you want it too!).

NOT USING A PLANNER?

Amazing! In addition to helping you create your vision, I’m here to offer you general guidance and answer questions about overarching timelines for getting vendors booked and invites sent out, suggestions for the flow of the day, how to handle guest lists and RSVPs that late, etc.

So, whether you are DIYing your wedding or are working with a planner and feel you want more support to work out the details of your vision, I’d be thrilled to be part of crafting your day!

Why I created wedding Coaching

When my husband and I began our own journey of creating an authentic “Celebration of Love” as we called it, I often felt overwhelmed by the expectations and pressures to uphold outdated wedding traditions that just didn’t fit who we are as a couple.

Determined to be true to ourselves, we resolutely set out to create a celebration that spoke to our identities, our relationship, and what our celebration meant to us. But often, I felt like we were swimming upstream.

I found myself second guessing our decisions. I struggled to explain our unconventional vision to others, and found myself periodically pulled off-course by well-meaning advice and by my own lack of clarity. Sadly, I found that this experience is all too common.

Thankfully, we always managed to course correct and in the end we pulled off a celebration so genuinely “Us” that it was quite possibly the most joy-filled, and authentic experience of our lives, our guests said they felt that way too and I saw what a wedding celebration could truly be… A heart opening and expansive experience for everyone present.

When friends began confiding in me that they wished they had known how to stay true to themselves with their own weddings… I knew that I could offer the kind of support we had wanted. So, I took my 10+ years of life coaching experience, combined it with the massive amount of insight and wisdom gained during my own wedding journey, and created something I’d never heard of before, but was exactly what I knew was needed – Wedding Coaching.

Since my own wedding in 2018 I’ve had the honor of guiding and supporting couples to stay grounded in what matters most: fortifying that deep connection as they co-created their one-of-a-kind celebration and navigate the planning process with ease, excitement, and much less overwhelm –  And I know this is possible for you, too.

I’d be honored to be a part of making your day a true reflection of the two of you.

Happy Clients

“Working with Caitlin was the best decision we could have made in the planning process.

Having Caitlin on our side helped keep the focus on what mattered to us; getting married and making vows, ceremony and reception all our own. We wanted to put thought and meaning and intention into how we promised the rest of our lives to each other and I’m not sure we could have come up with something so ‘us’ without Caitlin.

Caitlin listened carefully, reflected our thoughts back to us and added her unique perspective in an invaluable manner. I honestly don’t know if we would have had the courage to go through with some of the more nontraditional aspects of our ceremony without her support, feedback and know-how.” – Laura & Cameron

Caitlin is amazing! If I could gift anything to a newly engaged couple, it would be her Wedding Coaching. She is very easy to talk to and made my partner and I feel comfortable right away. She helped us to craft a wedding ceremony that was truly meaningful.

Thank you, Caitlin!

– Melissa & Mike

Thank you for all your help throughout our planning process. I’m so happy with how everything turned out, it truly was perfect. We had so many people come up remarking about how personal the ceremony was and how at home and comfortable they felt throughout the weekend and I know that we couldn’t have done it without you.

I wanted to share a text from one of my family members after the wedding that I thought you would like to hear since it touches on a lot of the things that we worked on together! – Lauren

“I just wanted to share with you how much we loved Lauren and Scott’s wedding.  Adam and I were so happy to be there- and so impressed, more so than any other wedding we have been to (ever!), at how thoughtful and personal their day was.  It was an honor to be part of that special celebration – I am so happy for them  She really pulled it off!!  This goes down in the books as one of our favorite weddings ever!” – Guest at Lauren & Scott’s wedding
